William T. Neison Jr., 82, formerly of Whitehall Township and most recently of Northampton, died Aug. 4, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of Joan (Missimer) for 59 years.
Born in East Stroudsburg and raised in Minisink Hills, he was a son of the late William and Violet (Frailey) Neison.
He was a 1961 graduate of Gettysburg College.
He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.
He retired from Lucent Technologies after 30 years as an accounting manager.
He volunteered at St. Elizabeth Regional School and for Habitat for Humanity of the Lehigh Valley. He was a member of the board of trustees for the Whitehall Township Public Library. He was a former baseball and softball coach for the Hokendauqua Park and Playground Association. He was a former Cub Scout leader in Hokendauqua and a PTO officer for Whitehall-Coplay elementary schools.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Reifinger and her husband Jeff of Northampton; a son, Todd and his wife Kim of Davidsonville, Md.; a brother, Kirk Neison and his wife Diane of Sudbury, Mass.; and three grandchildren, Kelsey Reifinger, Cameron Reifinger and Briana Neison.
He was predeceased by a son, David Neison of Aurora, Colo.; and a grandson, Adam Neison of Aurora, Colo.
Services were private.
