The Whitehall Active Community Center, also known as the senior center, held its fourth anniversary and grand reopening celebration July 11.
The event was held in the indoor pavilion building, located at the West Catasauqua Playground, 2301 Pine St., with refreshments served. Around 50 people attended the event.
The third anniversary celebration could not be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so the center was thrilled to host a fourth anniversary, even though late.
Special guests included state Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-133rd; Michael Dee, McNeill’s chief of staff and a Whitehall Township commissioner; state Rep. Zach Mako, R-183rd; Tony Cocca, Whitehall director of parks and recreation; and Lehigh County Commissioner candidates Antonio Pineda and Luke Savage.
Exercise sessions resumed in June with the Tai Chi class. In July, chair yoga and stretch and strength classes resumed.
There is a fee for classes unless you have a supplemental insurance that covers exercise classes. Class schedules will be posted on the senior center’s Facebook page, Whitehall Active Community Center.
Daily hot and light-fare lunches are served but must be ordered in advance. Call 610-443-0675 to reserve the day you would like to have lunch. You can view the menus on the Facebook page.
The Thursday bingo games are 12:30 p.m. following lunch. Sunday bingos resumed July 25.
