Gardeners inspired by annual tour

Eight gardens were available to view during Parkland Garden Club’s 22nd annual garden tour July 17,
The “Gardens of Inspiration” tour included Pam Landis’ garden, which has been in her family since the mid-1900s featured five of the largest oak trees in the county.
Leigh and Bill Erhlich’s garden was designed by Scott Rothenberger of PLACE.
Robin Kostolsky home featured a cottage style garden.
In addition to her garden, her art studio was open for viewing.
Barbara Bigelow and Leon Peters’ split-level home and garden featured a profusion of annual flowers, fish pond, fountain and swimming pool.
David Smith and Jenni Levy’s garden has more than 1,500 native perennials, shrubs and trees, and a small vegetable garden.
This garden, designed by Gary Campbell, has flowers blooming year round.
John and Silvia McDonald’s garden, a certified Pennsylvania pollinator garden, has pitcher plants, sundews and pawpaw, Asian pear, persimmon and fig trees.
Anne Zagarella’s garden features 1,200 day lily cultivars.
The garden is registered with the American Daylily Society as “Kittatinny Daylily Garden.”
Claire and Beau Kulielka’s property, which was part of Gen. Harry Trexler’s sheep farm, provides food and shelter for birds and other wildlife.
The couple’s project this year was to create a Zen influence to the side shade garden.

The Parkland Garden Club will meet 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield.
The program “Baby Dragons in the Garden” will be presented by Janice Kelsey with Jody Spangler.
