Local teen in national summer program
This summer, Bethlehem Township resident Joscelyn Rose, AKA Marz Rose, will joined outstanding middle school students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career-oriented development experience, the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Explore STEM, taking place in King of Prussia/Philadelphia, in July.
NYLF Explore STEM is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs (www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.
Marz Rose was nominated to attend the forum by their Seminar (gifted program) instructor, Ms. McDonald, at East Hills MS. Marz is a straight A Honor Roll student who will be entering their first year of high school this coming fall.
In their first year of middle school Marz was served as class vice president. In January 2020, Marz led a fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Bethlehem to raise money to help families of Flint, Michigan, who have been living with contaminated water.
Marz loves to read, create art and is musically inclined, playing the ukulele and trumpet and dabbling with guitar, piano and drums. Marz is also an advocate on social media for teens in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as raising awareness for teens regarding our country’s mental health crisis.
In their leisure time, Marz loves to cos-play and has close to 2,000 followers on TikTok.
