National Night Out Aug. 3

National Night Out is right around the corner. This is an annual program run by local police departments to promote unity between the police department and the communities they protect.

National Night Out will be held 5-8 p.m. Aug. 3 at Salisbury Middle School. Come out and meet your local police officers, firefighters and emergency personnel.

There will be basket raffles, emergency vehicles to check out, music, face painting, a dunk tank and many more activities.

If you are hungry, Take a Taco, Wow Wagon, Queen V Wraps, Kona Ice and more will be available for purchase. If you are interested in donating to the basket raffle, email Corp. Kevin Kress at kkress@salisburytownshippa.org.

There will be a second movie night at Franko Farm Park this summer. “Raya and the Last Dragon” will be shown at dusk, around 8:45 p.m. Aug. 13. Bring your own chairs and blankets and all park rules apply. Children must be accompanied by an adult and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. A food truck or two will be available for snack purchases.

Is your Salisbury middle or high school student planning on participating in a fall sport or band? Free physicals are being offered at Salisbury High School starting 5 p.m. July 28. Salisbury Township School District summer library hours and locations for this week are: 9:30-11:30 a.m. July 28 at SMS and Aug. 4 at Salisbury Elementary School. These are the last library days of the summer. Come out and grab some books.

Salisbury Township yard waste drop off sites are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Franko Farm will be open July 29 and 31. The Devonshire site will be open Aug. 2, 5 and 7. For a complete listing of acceptable items, visit the township website under the heading “Refuse and Recycling.”
