Jose Gandia, 77, of Reading and Bethlehem, died on July 21, 2021, in his home. Born in Bayamon, P.R., he was a son of the late Tomas Gandia and Julia Nazario.
He worked for Consolidated Bus Company, New York, for 30 years before retiring.
He was a chaplain for many years with the Assemblies of God, Reading. He was a member of Discipulando Las Naciones.
He was a painter in oils and acrylics and was a sculptor. He was a playwright at Iglesia Fuente de Salvacion, Brooklyn, New York.
He is survived by three sons, Jose A., Gilbert J. (Sara) and Noel (Marta); a daughter, Rebecca Gonzales (Peter); a sister, Lydia Gandia; three stepdaughters, Vivian Perez (Steven), Maria Perez (Benjamin), Carmen Mata (Jose); 34 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Glenda Vega-Ortiz; and a brother, Tomas Gandia.
Arrangements were made by James Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
