Allentown Fair queen to be chosen on Sept. 1

The 2021 Great Allentown Fair Queen will be selected Sept. 1 to represent the fair’s mission during fair week, and in the community throughout the year.

The Lehigh County Agricultural Society, the nonprofit organization that owns and operates the fair has contestants from Lehigh, Northampton and Berks counties.

An ideal candidate has the ability to communicate enthusiasm for the Allentown Fair, local farming and the agricultural industry.

Young women ages 16 to 20 entered the competition that awards a $1,500 scholarship.

The $1,000 portion is presented by Lehigh-Northampton Pomona Grange No. 68 and the $500 portion of the scholarship is presented by Dan and Laurie Wuchter on behalf of the Allentown Farmer’s Market.

She will reign over various activities at the upcoming Allentown Fair Sept. 1-6.

The 2021 Allentown Fair Queen will be crowned opening night Sept. 1 at the RCN Farmerama Theater at The Great Allentown Fair.

The 2019 and 2020 queen Ayla Blatt of Kutztown will return to crown her successor.

The queen’s activities include promoting the fair’s mission at events and speaking at engagements throughout the community during her yearlong reign.

She will also vie for the title of Pennsylvania State Fair Queen in Hershey in January 2022, a position that involves visiting fairs throughout the commonwealth during the summer months of 2022.
