Lila M. Bowman, died Jan. 8, 2021, at home. She was the wife of the late Richard “Dick” W. Bowman for 61 years.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas G. Marks and Margaret M. (Newman) Marks Webster.
She was a cafeteria monitor and a teacher’s aide for Whitehall-Coplay School District 1967-1995. She continued providing services in the district as a volunteer.
She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, where she was a president of the women’s association, a member of the board of deacons and was an elder.
She is survived by two sons, Richard W. Jr. and his wife Debi and John “Beet” A., all of Whitehall; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Thomas “Peach” A. Bowman; and a brother, Thomas G. Marks.
There will be a visitation 10 a.m., followed by a service 11 a.m., July 30 in the church, 3005 S. Front St., Whitehall, 18052.
Contributions may be made to the church.
