George A. Wirth Jr., 86, of Whitehall, died July 14, 2021, at home.
The husband of Marguerite E. (Platzer) Wirth, he retired in 1990 following a career as a cutter in the garment industry.
A well-known musician in the Lehigh Valley area, he was a volunteer for the Lehigh Valley Health Network Amputee Support Group.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late George A. Wirth Sr. and Stella (Bauer) Wirth.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Paul, husband of Linda Lapos, of Allentown; George, husband of Suzanne Wirth, of Whitehall; and John, husband of Beata Wirth, of Whitehall; siblings Victoria Faust of Allentown and Ronald Wirth of Bethlehem.
He was predeceased by siblings Dennis Wirth of Siezholtzville, and Joseph Wirth and Dolores Wirth, both of Allentown; grandchildren Adriane Wirth, Jennifer Rodriguez, Nichole McCowan, Mathew Wirth, Daniel Wirth, Marie Miller and the late Elizabeth Kleibscheidel; great-grandchildren Andrew Kalmar; Gabriel, Aubrey, Hannah and Gunner Wirth; Theresa, Jonathan and Jameson Kleibscheidel; Lana Stufflett and Brayden Miller; Brody, Brooke, Callan and Delaney McCowan; and Sebastian and Cecilia Rodriquez.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. July 23 by Father Stanley Moczydlowski in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall.
His family will receive guests starting at 10 a.m. Interment in Gethsemane Cemetery, Catasauqua will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church memorial fund, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, PA 18052, or to Lehigh Valley Health Network Amputee Support Group, Office of Philanthropy, P.O. Box 1883, Allentown, PA 18105-9988.
