Hokendauqua: Church sustains fireworks marks

First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St., unfortunately had some marks left on the back of the church due to fireworks shot off in the parking lot. The church recently spent thousands of dollars to have the building repaired and repainted. The Rev. Christine Potter-Kass, pastor of First Presbyterian, said the church board is very upset about this circumstance.

In addition, fireworks remnants were found in the memorial flower garden in front of the church, which means the fireworks went over the roof from the back, Potter-Kass said.

The police department was at the church taking photos after it was reported, Potter-Kass added.

Discussions on installing cameras around the church have begun.
