Paul D. Pagel, 74, of Northampton, died unexpectedly July 8, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Phyllis (Barthol) Pagel for 50 years.
Born in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Edgar and Edna (Hontz) Pagel.
He served his country as a fourth grade specialist during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by PBNE Railroad as a general yard master for more than 40 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Seemsville.
He was a master Mason with F.A.M. Lodge 283, Bethlehem; a life member of the Northampton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714; and a member of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott and his wife Tiffany of Bethlehem; a daughter, Amy and her husband Thomas Malseed of Northampton; a brother, Richard and his wife Pamela of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Ann of Bethlehem and Lois and her husband Edward Clauss of Whitehall; and four grandchildren, Hannah, Jacob, Brayden and Gavin.
There will be a calling time 5-6 p.m. July 15, followed by a memorial service 6 p.m., at the church, 8142 Valley View Road, Northampton.
