Edward M. Salgado, M.D., 79, of Bethlehem, died July 3, 2021. Born in Kearny, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Angelina Pecora and Manuel Salgado. He was the husband of Carol Hagenbuch Salgado for 55 years.

He completed school and a residency at Jefferson Medical College.

He was hired by St. Luke’s Hospital and was the hospital’s first plastic surgeon. During his 40 year career there, he was president of the medical staff, head of plastic surgery, and a member of the board of trustees.

In 2018, he and his wife accomplished their quest to visit all seven continents. His love of Italy brought them to support Save Venice for many years. He was in many local organizations. He was a member of Saucon Valley Country Club. He was a Master Gardener and designed many gardens, including the one at his home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason Salgado and his wife Susan; a daughter, Christine Salgado and her husband Paul Cyr; and three grandchildren, Grace Salgado and Alex and Cate Cyr.
