Carl “Laubie” A. Laub, 85, of Hellertown, died June 27, 2021, at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. Born in Scheresville, he was a son of the late Edward L. and Elsie I. (Eckert) Laub. He was the husband of Gloria A. (Rohrbach) Laub for 63 years.
He was a 1954 graduate of Hellertown High School where he played basketball (district champions, 50-51). and track.
He was a clerk and then a material coordinator foreman of plant construction at the Bethlehem Steel for 35 years until he retired. He was a part-time attendant at Heintzelman Funeral Home and worked for Kichline’s Auto Parts.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown, where he was an usher and was on the property committee.
He was a member of the Hellertown Lions Club where he was warded both the Melvin Jones Fellowship and the President’s Appreciation Awards; and Good Fellows. He was Cub Scout Master in 1967 and was a Scouters Key Cubmaster 1972. He had Cub and Boy Scouts training; Cornerstone Award Woodbadge 1972, Lamb Award 1980 (national award), Assistant Boy Scout Master Fellowship Award 1975 Order of the Arrow 1979, Unit Commissioner, and was a member of Troop 349 committee and Scouters Key. He was on the Halloween Parade Committee and class reunions.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jeff A. (Carol A.) of Hellertown and Gary D. (Jennifer A.) of Lower Saucon Township.; and three grandchildren, Courtney M. (Patrick) Dietrich, Samantha L. (Ricky Rickle) Laub and Matthew J. Laub.
He was predeceased by a brother, Edwin L. Laub.
