Retail theft

An unidentified male removed a Milwaukee reciprocating saw, drill and battery, valued at $299, from Dries Do It Center, 3580 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported June 10.

An unidentified male entered Target, 749 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9 a.m. April 5 and removed clothing items valued at $179.74 and electronics valued at $1,305.85 by placing items into a backpack and a cart and leaving the store without paying, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Asset prevention personnel noticed the man on video surveillance footage and alerted police investigators.

Theft from vehicle

A catalytic converter, valued at $1,000, was removed from a vehicle parked at the Park and Ride - Wescosville, Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 9:18 p.m. June 3.

DUI

A 38-year-old male, of North Wales, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after troopers responded to a location in the 6900 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, for a male face down in a parking lot 8:22 p.m. May 25. Investigators determined the male was the operator of a sport utility vehicle at the scene. He was taken to Lehigh County Central Booking Center.

A 38-year-old male, of Allentown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop at the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard/Interstate 78 East, Lower Macungie Township, 8:51 p.m. May 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 48-year-old male, of Zionsville, was hurt in a single-vehicle accident when he allegedly was driving under the influence and his sport utility vehicle struck a tree along Macungie Mountain Road, Upper Milford Township, 2:49 p.m. May 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling south when he allegedly was unable to negotiate a curve and went off the right shoulder of the road. The motorist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for treatment. The vehicle was towed from the accident scene.

Theft

A red book bag, valued at $25, was taken from a location in the 6900 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, between 2 and 3 p.m. April 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Unauthorized purchases were made on a credit card belonging to Kay Builders, 5930 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, between Jan. 7 and 9, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of Woodbine Road, Lower Macungie Township, learned her personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 12.

A resident of Heritage Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned his personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 14.

A resident of Hunt Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned his personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits after his employer notified him of an attempted claim, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The claim was documented by the employer. The resident reported the incident May 25.

A resident of Belmont Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned his personal information was used after his employer notified him of an attempted unemployment claim, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident happened between June 2 and 4.

A resident of Hillcrest Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned his personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The claim was sent to the resident’s boss. The resident reported the incident May 3.

A resident of Sandtrap Lane, Lower Macungie Township, learned her personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 13 and her employer was notified.

A resident of Lilac Road, Lower Macungie Township, discovered her personal information was used to open an E-ZPass electronic toll collection account, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported March 17.

A resident of Covenant Court, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was used to apply for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident happened between May 23 and June 2.

A resident of the 4800 block of Sheep Rock Road, Lower Macungie Township, received a debit card in the mail for a checking account he did not open, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported April 23.

Terroristic threats

Matthew J. McGonagle, 41, of Schnecksville, allegedly threatened another person in an incident involving text messages being sent to a location in the 900 block of Cold Spring Road, Lower Macungie Township, April 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Drug possession

A 31-year-old male, of Reading, allegedly was found to have marijuana and related paraphernalia after a traffic stop at in the intersection of U.S. Route 222 South and North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:32 p.m. May 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 41-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly was in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop at the intersection of Walnut Lane and Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 8:15 p.m. April 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Criminal mischief

Greens and a tee box at Shepherd Hills golf course, 1160 S. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, were found to be damaged sometime June 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Accident

A 47-year-old motorist, of Emmaus, was hurt when his minivan struck a tree at the intersection of Little Spur and Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:57 p.m. May 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling west and went off the right shoulder of the road. Macungie EMS, Stew’s Tire Center and Lower Macungie Fire Company crews also responded.

DUI Checkpoint

Pennsylvania State Police conducted a sobriety checkpoint 10 p.m. June 22 to 3 a.m. June 26 along Lower Macungie Road at Wild Cherry Lane, Lower Macungie Township, according to a media release from Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The checkpoint resulted in four arrests for allegedly driving under the influence, one misdemeanor arrest and one felony arrest. One warning also was issued. Troopers stopped 185 motorists in the checkpoint. The goal of a sobriety checkpoint is to reduce the number of alcohol and drug related crashes and fatalities and to reduce the number of intoxicated drivers using the roads, according to police.

Simple assault

A 41-year-old male, of Wescosville, was arrested for simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck a 45-year-old female, of Macungie, in the head twice during an argument inside a vehicle, fracturing her cheek bone and bruising her eye, 12:45 a.m. May 30, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The woman was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital. The male was arrested in Berks County, according to police.
