Lower Milford Township family wins stay-home vacation

After many families missed vacations or a spring break over the past 18 months because of the COVID-19 pandemic, a Lower Milford Township family was awarded a stay-at-home “staycation” June 5 by the makers of Cheez-It cracker snacks.

Jon Zerbini and his family were awarded a one-day simulated dude ranch vacation erected in their backyard after being selected the winner among 10,000 entries through the Twitter messaging website in March.

The experience included a bull-riding machine, a hot tub, a snack bar and a performance stage transported to the family’s Judy Lane residence as part of the Cheez-It snack maker’s promotional roll-out.

There was an abundance of the snack crackers placed strategically around the property as family and neighbors enjoyed the attractions.

Especially popular was the mechanical bucking bull.

As several youngsters and adults enjoyed the ride, other participants counted off the seconds for an impromptu competition as the ride operator off to the side of the attraction manipulated the “bull’s” gyrations.

As the day’s sponsors said repeatedly, “You can still have fun at home in your own back yard.”
