Northampton: Community Days returns for 2021; fun set to start July 7

Northampton Exchange Club’s Community Days will be held July 7-10 at the Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue.

Each night will have a different theme - children’s night, veterans’ night, Northampton night and firemen’s day.

There will be fun activities, live entertainment, bingo, food, beverages, rides and about a dozen vendors. Don’t miss the annual wiffle ball tournament and hot dog-eating contest.

A fireworks display will close out the event.

July is re-registration month at Northampton Area Food Bank.

The food bank, 1601 Canal St., will be open 9:30-11:45 a.m. each Wednesday for registration. Bring a photo ID with a current address or your ID and a bill with the correct address.

You should reside in Northampton Area School District or check with the food bank by phone Wednesday mornings. You will need names and birth dates of everyone living with you full time.

Distributions are set for 5-7 p.m. July 1, 8, 15 and 22 and 9-11:45 a.m. July 10 and 17.

The food bank is open 9:30 a.m.-noon every Wednesday for questions and donation drop-offs.

Northampton Banquet & Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave., will reopen Aug. 16. Monday night bingo will also resume at that time.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is registering for the 2021-22 school year.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Class size is limited to 12 children. Children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Class size is limited to 16 children. Children need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.

There is a registration fee and monthly tuition.
