Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin has announced Jahmel Anthony Crews, 27,pleaded guilty in a 2019 homicide on Airport Road.

According to Martin, on Oct. 23, at approximately 1:03 a.m., members of the Allentown Police Department found Yaret Rivera, 22, of Worcester, MA, in a parking area with a gunshot wound to the chest. Rivera died from his injuries and his death was ruled a homicide by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

An investigation revealed that Crews and his alleged accomplice, Walter Martinez, 27, caused the death of Rivera while in the commission of a robbery. Martinez is charged with criminal homicide, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, all felonies of the first degree.

Crews’ sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 11.
