The Rev. Michael J. Stone, 78, of Blakeslee, died June 14, 2021, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Paul and Helen (Bugarewicz) Stone.

He was ordained to the priesthood March 9, 1968. During his time, he served in numerous places across the Lehigh Valley in both Lehigh and Northampton counties. He retired June 14, 2011, and was granted the honorary title of pastor emeritus at St. Ambrose Parish, Schuylkill Haven.

For a while, he put computers together for schools and offices of places where he was stationed.

He is survived by a niece, Donna White of Tamaqua; two nephews; Bernard Stone of Syosset, N.Y. and Stephen Stone and his wife Rosemarie of Franklin Lakes, N.J.; three great-nieces, Stephanie and her husband Preston Miller, Alyson Stone and Sarah Stone; a great-nephew, John Stone; a great-great-niece, Adeline Miller; a sister-in-law, Anne Stone of Syosset, N.Y.; and longtime friend and caregiver, Marjorie Fletcher.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul and Bernard; and a sister-in-law, Helen.
