Food service for students continues this summer

I hope everyone has had a great start to the summer break. It is finally time to unwind and recharge. Things are slowly reopening, as able, and I wish everyone a happy and healthy summer break.
Don’t forget – our very own food services crew is planning to continue with Monday food service pickups for all children under 18 years old in the township. Pickup is 4-6 p.m. Mondays at Salisbury Elementary School. Please take advantage of this awesome opportunity.
Salisbury Youth Association registration for fall football and cheerleading is now open online. Visit syasports.net and select the option you would like to register for. Questions for football can be directed to Jim Blaukovitch at syafootball@gmail.com and cheerleading questions can be directed to Rebecca Jones at cheerleading@syasports.net.
If you are considering playing a Salisbury Middle School/Salisbury High School sport, being a team manager or joining twirling/marching band, note St. Luke’s is offering free athletic physicals at Coca-Cola Park this summer. You must have a physical dated on or after June 1 to participate in athletics/marching band/twirling in the 2021-2022 school year.
Athlete physicals at Coca-Cola Park will be held 2-7 p.m. July 16 and Aug. 10 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 17. Athletes must bring their completed Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association, Inc. forms (sections 6-7 of new PIAA form). Updated PIAA forms will be available beginning in June. The 10th annual Salisbury Football Golf Classic will be held Aug. 14 at Wedgewood Golf Course. Registration is 7 a.m. with a shotgun start 8 a.m. The cost includes tournament fees and cart, continental breakfast and hot dogs at the turn and beverages all day. Prizes will be awarded. Bring the whole family to Franko Park June 25 to see a showing of the original Ghostbusters movie. The movie will begin around 8:45 p.m. Bring your own chairs and blankets and all park rules apply. All children must be accompanied by an adult and no alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Do you like baseball? Join the Salisbury community at an IronPigs game. The game is 7:05 p.m. July 20, but you must register by June 25. The registration form is on the Salisbury Township website. Questions should be directed to Lisa Casey at 610-797-4000, ext. 5814.
The township yard waste sites continue to be open alternating weekends for drop-off needs. Hours for drop off are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The Devonshire drop-off will be open June 24 and 26, while the Franko Farm drop-off will be open June 28, July 1 and 3.
