Coplay Public Library: Pet expo planned for June 25
Join us 10 a.m.-noon June 25 for the pet expo sponsored by Sanctuary at Haafsville, a nonprofit, volunteer-based shelter for cats and dogs. The sanctuary provides long-term homes and foster care for the animals, arranges adoptions and offers education and many other services.

The library is planning a mystery event for all ages. “CSI: Coplay Public Library” is planned for 2:30 p.m. June 28. Help Red figure out which animal friend got a bit too hungry at the tea party and tried to take a bite out of her granny.

The library book club will next meet 6-6:30 p.m. June 30. The theme is books that are on your to-be-read list.
While this will be our first in-person meeting, it will also be streamed live on Zoom.

Join Miss Janice for the Wildside storytime, set for 11 a.m. July 1.
The Dr. Doolittle and Friends storytime will be held 4:30 p.m. July 7 and 11 a.m. July 15.

The library will be holding a virtual visit from Animals of the Endangered Wolf Center from Eureka, Miss., 3 p.m. July 9. Stop by the library to meet with the Mexican wolves, red wolves, maned wolves, swift foxes, African painted dogs and fennec foxes on our big screen, or email the library at coplaypubliclibrary@gmail.com for a link to view from home.

The Summer Quest challenge began June 7, but there’s still plenty of time to join the fun. To register, come to the library or visit coplaypubliclibrary.org. Programs are open for prereaders, children, teens and adults.
The challenge for all age groups ends Aug. 28.
Registration is continuous throughout the summer and helps the library by showing the state we’re a vital community resource.

The outdoor community crawl to visit seven parks and community locations continues until Aug. 14. Suggestions for easy activities at each site are printed on the guide.
Everyone who turns in a completed game sheet by Aug. 21 will receive a plantable pencil. Supplies are limited.

Masks are still required until June 28 at least and must be worn correctly while in the building. Hand sanitizer and gloves are available.
We still offer curbside services for anyone who cannot wear a mask for a medical reason or is more comfortable staying outside.
