Alfred “Fritz” E. Schadl, 85, of Whitehall, died June 13, 2021, in his daughter’s residence. He was the husband of the late Bernadette G. (Kennedy) Schadl for 26 years.

Born in Stiles, he was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Solderits) Schadl.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He worked for many years at Bethlehem Steel. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service before his retirement.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whitehall.

He is survived by two sons, John Remer of Coplay and Robert Remer of Saylorsburg; a daughter, Jill and her husband Timothy Strella of Coplay; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Francis and Joseph Schadl; and three sisters, Josephine Newhard, Anna Rechtor and Freda Mertz.

He was predeceased by a brother, Edward Schadl; and two sisters, Rose Cherry and Stella Frassetto.
