George A. Rauch, 86, of New Tripoli, died June 8, 2021, at home.
Born Oct. 23, 1934, in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late Charles J.D. and Mabel (Reitz) Rauch.
The loving husband of Barbara (Balliet) Rauch, the couple shared 63 years of marriage on April 5.
A 1952 graduate of Slatington High School, in his youth, he was a player for various basketball and baseball church leagues in New Tripoli.
In his early working years, he was a farmer in Lynn Township.
Later on, he went on to work for Mack Trucks.
After retirement, he worked for Baer Potato Farm, Lynn Township, and the Northwestern Recreation Commission Fields as a groundskeeper.
He was a volunteer for the former Northwestern Ambulance Corps.
He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli.
An avid Philadelphia sports fan, he was a dedicated family man.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Kim, wife of John Martin, and Karen, wife of Marvin Gruber.
He was a beloved Ampa to his grandchildren Tony (Sarah) Martin, Patrick Martin, Nicholas (Natalie) Gruber, Nathan (Liz) Martin and Jordan (Nathan) Gruber; five great-grandchildren and one expected in October; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Charles Rauch, and sisters Dorothy Dutt and Anna Long.
