EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am a 2021 graduate of Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom and dad, Robin and Jeff and my older brother Zachary.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject has always been math because I really enjoy the challenge it provides.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I was inducted into National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. I have received the Academic Excellence Award at Emmaus every year. I was also accepted and attended the Harvard University Pre-College Program in the summer of 2019. In addition to academics, I have won numerous awards in dance on the local, regional and national level.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I am the president of Key Club at Emmaus, a member of the Student Government Association, Red Cross Club and Hornet Ambassadors. I have also been a member of the PALS Club, PA Math League Club and a volunteer at the Autism Resource Community Hub of LV until it closed this past summer. Outside of school, I am a member of the That’s Dancin’ Dance Company and a student teacher at That’s Dancin’! The coronavirus has caused most of these activities to become almost completely virtual, but we still found ways to stay involved in the school and community even if it was from a distance.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Finding enough time to balance school and the many extracurricular activities I enjoy participating in.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. In the fall, I will be attending Bucknell University as a Dean’s Scholar and Arts Merit Scholar in Dance. I plan on studying finance with minors in mathematics and dance.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. My older brother Zachary has autism and is the most incredible example of hard work and perseverance. He inspires me everyday to continue working toward my goals and to cherish every opportunity.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I hope to be remembered as someone who is always there for others and works to make a difference in their community.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Do what makes you happy and cherish every moment.
