William H. Baer, 92, of Coopersburg, died June 6, 2021, in his home. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Philip and Sarah (Place) Baer. He was the husband of the late Frances (Graber) Baer.
He was a graduate of Liberty High School.
He was a receptionist and guard for the Bethlehem Steel; a diesel mechanic for Berman Trucking; worked for Fluck’s Hardware, Coopersburg; and most recently worked for the Borough of Coopersburg, until he retired in February 2018.
He was a member of Trinity U.C.C., Bethlehem.
He was a past president and lifetime member of the Coopersburg Fire Company and was completing his 68th year of service this year. He was a treasurer of Coopersburg Ambulance and a member of the Coopersburg Council and Water Authority. He was a past president and treasurer of the Southern Lehigh Jaycees.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jill Baer, with whom he resided; three sisters, Barbara Fleuer of Kunkletown, Phyllis Wierbach of Maryland and Sandra Waldbieser of South Carolina; five grandsons, Philip Baer (Alexandra), Craig Baer (Tammy), Thomas Baer (Kelly) and Jason Baer (Tara); eight great-grandchildren, Brynn, Justin, Cassidy, Rylie, Gabriel, Hailey, Mckenzie and Caiden; and a son, Robert William Baer, nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Daniel E. Baer; and four siblings, Charles Baer, Elaine Warren, Shirley Detweiler and Pauline Pike.
