Attempted strangulation
A 36-year-old male, of Macungie, allegedly assaulted and attempted to strangle another person at a location in the 3600 block of Clauss Drive, Lower Macungie Township, June 4, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The second person broke away from the male, called police and was treated at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest.
Assault with bodily injury
A 35-year-old female, of Macungie, allegedly assaulted another person at a location on Sequoia Drive, Lower Macungie Township, May 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The second person was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for evaluation.
DUI
Kim Marie Levengood, 54, of East Greenville, allegedly was found to be driving under the influence after she fled on foot from an accident scene in a wooded area near the intersection of West Mill Road and Kings Highway South, Lower Milford Township, 8:53 p.m. April 26, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A witness told troopers he heard a crash in the area of his residence, saw a motorist inside the crashed vehicle and called 9-1-1. The motorist was apprehended shortly after she allegedly attempted to leave when she noticed troopers in the area of the accident, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Donald William Barthel, 62, of Reading, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of the intersection of Chestnut Street and Walnut Lane, Upper Milford Township, 9:03 p.m. April 17, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Theft by deception
A resident of Pioneer Drive, Lower Macungie Township, was persuaded to provide personal identification and account information to buy five cellphones, four of which were to be sent to an address in Lindsey, Okla., according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident was first contacted through a dating app. A relative of the resident discovered the scam and notified police. The incident occurred between May 8 and 12.
Theft
A water pump, hose and water line were removed from the edge of the Little Lehigh River in the 2900 block of Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 7 and 11:08 a.m. April 24, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A person left the equipment at the site for an appointment and returned to find the items missing. The pump was valued at $250 and the water hose line was valued at $75.
A female guest did not pay her entire bill at Italiano Delite Restaurant and Grill, 1985 Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:30 p.m. May 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The guest was later located and settled her bill.
False alarms
Troopers responded to Kuehne and Nagel transport company, 8620 Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 3:57 p.m. May 15 for an alarm, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An investigation revealed the alarm was the seventh false alarm to occur at the business in the same consecutive 12-month period, resulting in a citation.
Troopers responded to First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, 6084 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 7:11 p.m. May 14 for a motion alarm, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An investigation revealed the building was secure and the seventh false alarm to occur at the business in a consecutive 12-month period, resulting in a citation.
Accident
A 64-year-old pedestrian was hurt when she was struck by a sport utility vehicle in the 7100 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 8:36 a.m. April 22, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The female was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. Macungie Ambulance Corps also responded.
Drug arrest
A 46-year-old male, of West Hempstead, N.Y., was arrested as a result of a traffic stop in the 5300 block of Indian Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 7:24 p.m. April 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Identity theft
A resident of Jarrett Farm Road, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was used to file for unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 12:34 p.m. March 15.
A resident of Par Causeway, Lower Macungie Township, reported a fraudulent unemployment claim, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 5:43 p.m. May 20.
A resident of Kart Drive, Lower Macungie Township, reported identity theft involving unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported May 17.
