Bethlehem resident Isaacc Ricki Resto, 21, has been charged in the vehicular death of a pedestrian on Hanover Avenue around 7:20 p.m. Oct., 8 2020.
According to police, 46-year-old Eliezer Montano-Lopez was found in the middle of the road, the apparent victim of an accident. He was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s University Hospital around 11 p.m. Witnesses told police that Montano-Lopez had been walking across the street when he was struck by a Nissan Sentra being driven at a “high rate of speed” that fled from the area. An investigation has determined that Resto was driving the car.
Resto is charged with one count each of homicide by vehicle and accidents involving death or personal injury while not licensed; both felonies of the third degree; accidents involving death or personal injury; a felony of the second degree; reckless endangerment and not notifying police of an accident.
Resto is in Lehigh County Jail under $75,000 bail.
