LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

YMCA to hold camp at Danielsville Park beginning June 14

Greater Valley YMCA’s Suburban North Family branch will be offering a summer day camp for Lehigh Township’s youth at Danielsville Park, 1265 Walnut Drive. The 11-week experience will run from June 14 to Aug. 27 and aims to develop character, teach valuable skills and build strong bonds.

Youths ranging from the ages of 5 to 12 are welcome to participate in the summer camp - 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The camp is set at $125 per week for YMCA members and $145 per week for nonmembers; part-time rates are available. All campers will have to provide their own lunches.

The camp hopes to create a fun-filled environment that will grow individuals as leaders. Every week has been handcrafted to deliver a different experience that opens the imagination and gives some giggles. Some weeks include Tropical Breeze & Palm Trees, H2O Woah! and Fiesta.

Campers will remain on the park grounds the entire time, with hourly activities scheduled and in-house field trips planned. Participants can expect to see cooking demonstrations, the Mad Science Guy, different animal visitors and a mining for gems moment. All campers, workers and visitors will follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s social-distancing guidelines.

A full-day preschool for children aged 3 to 5 will also be offered at Suburban North Family YMCA, 880 Walnut St., Catasauqua, for $126 per week. The school day will run 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and is dedicated to building strong characters who possess considerable values. The curriculum-backed program will require a current immunization record, updated physical exam and completed registration packet.

Campers can register now by stopping by the YMCA and picking up a packet. There is a $25 registration fee. A waiver may apply.
