Susan M. (Ward) Roach, of Macungie, died May 29, 2021, surrounded by family in her home. She was the wife of the late John P. Roach, who died May 30, 2009. Born in Chicago, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret (Sweeney) Ward.

Prior to retiring in 2000, she was employed as a registered nurse and prenatal counselor at College Heights OB/GYN.

A graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Chicago, she began her nursing career in 1963, with specialties in public health, pediatrics and neonatal care.

She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and spoiling her grandchildren.

She is survived by daughters, Maureen E. “Reenie,” of Allentown, Susan and her husband, Joe Denneler, of Wynnewood, Michelle and her husband, Ryan McDermott, of Narberth; a sister, Rose Joseph, of Chicago; a sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Peter Conti, of Davis, Ill.; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Sean, Samantha, Timmy and Evie; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Frank and John.

Services are private. Arrangements entrusted to the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
