BLOOMSBURG Student receives forensics grant

Bloomsburg University announced that 153 Professional Experience Grants have been awarded for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Lindsey Garnel from Breinigsville, was awarded a grant to compete in a forensics competition.

Professional Experience Grants help students defray the cost of professional development activities and applied learning outside the realm of the academic classroom.

In addition, the Bloomsburg University forensics team finished third out of seven schools at the Collegiate Forensic Association’s first online tournament Oct. 16-17, 2020.

Garnel captured first in after-dinner speaking, was second in poetry, fourth in extemporaneous speaking, and fourth in pentathlon.

Bloomsburg finished ahead of the University of Lynchburg, Shepherd University, the University of Richmond, and Wilkes University. Randolph-Macon College and Florida College took first and second, respectively.
