Frances D. Clingman

Frances Dean (Molesky) Clingman, 78, of Alburtis, died peacefully May 21, 2021, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of the late Edward B. Clingman Jr. Born in Palm Springs, Calif., she was the daughter of the late Walter F. Molesky and Mary (Poole) Molesky.

She attended the University of Pittsburgh, 1961 to 1962, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority.

She worked as a teacher’s aide in the East Penn School District; later she owned and operated a small furniture reupholstery business where she transformed old treasures into new. She went on to work at the Allentown YMCA and Allentown Senior Center. When her children went off to college, she became a volunteer advisor with her sorority at Kutztown University. She enjoyed gardening.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Allentown.

She was a cleft palate survivor and donated to Smile Train, to help save lives of children born with a cleft palate.

She is survived by daughters, Karen and her husband, Scott Richards, of Coplay and Lynn, of Warren, N.J.; grandchildren, Janelle and her husband, Niall Lawson, of Edinburgh, Scotland, David Richards, of Bethlehem and Garrett Richards, of Coplay; a sister, Anne Miller, of Allentown; nieces, Kristen McEntire and Elizabeth Saks.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Smile Train, 633 Third Ave., Ninth Floor, N.Y.C, N.Y. 10017.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements were made by the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
