Strudel shop holds grand opening
A large gathering developed April 6 at Mattie’s Strudel Haus, 126 Main St., Bath, for the specialty shop’s grand opening.
The ceremony was coordinated through the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. Lauren Bertucci, of the Chamber, acted as master of ceremony and introduced Kellie Vlasics-Yost, operator of the unique strudel shop.
Vlasics-Yost makes a wide variety of Hungarian strudels, including cheesesteak strudel, blueberry crumb strudel, apple strudel and more. The shop offers authentic Hungarian stretched strudel.
Vlasics-Yost credits her mother and grandmother for passing on the strudel-baking secrets and for inspiring her.
Bath Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito awarded Vlasics-Yost with a proclamation noting the team’s hard work in creating a successful business.
“I am so impressed with what you have created. This took hard work and dedication,” Reginelli-Mirabito said.
Vlasics-Yost and her husband, Tom Yost, accepted the award.
Amy Storckoz, Vlasics-Yost’s graphic designer, noted she loves her time working at the Haus. She expressed how important the specialty shop is to the community, along with other Bath small businesses.
Vlasics-Yost thanked all the Bath officials, residents and Chamber members who attended the event.
The hours of operation are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays with additional hours 5-7:30 p.m. Thursdays and 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturdays. The shop is closed Sundays and Mondays.
