Marie Mertz, 82, of Coplay, died May 9, 2021, at her home. She was the wife of the late Alan C. Mertz for 47 years.

Born in Fullerton, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Marhon) Smicker.

She was a graduate of Whitehall High School where she was a majorette.

She was a secretary at GAC.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whitehall.

She is survived by a daughter, Alison Fuschetto and her husband Robert Jr. of Whitehall and Natalie Gross and her husband Jeffrey of West Easton; four grandchildren, Tyler and Amber Fuschetto and Spencer and Danica Gross; her caregiver, Margaret; three brothers, Eugene, Ronald and Dennis and his wife Loretta; three sisters, Dorothy Scott and her husband Fred, Lorraine Chivinsky and her husband Joseph and Elaine Simcoe and her husband Carl; nieces; and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Jr. and his wife Marilyn; and a sister-in-law, Monica.
