Egypt/Cementon: Whitehall Lions Club celebrates 70 years

The Whitehall Lions Club is celebrating its 70th year this month. Whitehall Lions began serving the Whitehall community May 5, 1951. As part of Lions Club International, Whitehall Lions Club joins 1.4 million Lions in more than 200 countries in serving others.

During the past 70 years, Whitehall Lions’ activities and events have provided assistance to individuals with visual impairments, diabetes and cancer, as well as disabled veterans and the homeless.

Whitehall Lions support young people by sponsoring Leo Clubs at Whitehall High School and Whitehall-Coplay Middle School. Leo Club members learn to put the Lions Club motto - “We Serve” - into practice by engaging in service projects within the community.

Happy 70th anniversary, Whitehall Lions!
