Bath market opens for 2021 season
Bath Farmers Market began its 14th season with a bumper crop of vendors - 17 in all - for the ribbon-cutting opening, held May 14.
The principal sponsor for this year’s market is Keystone Cement Company. Founded in 1928, Keystone has a strong, enduring presence in Bath Borough. On hand to cut the ribbon and officially open the 2021 market season were Stuart Guinther, Keystone plant director, and Anthony Madrazo, Human Resources manager.
Almost nearly as exciting as watching the ball drop New Year’s Eve in New York’s Times Square, numerous local elected officials, including Bath Mayor Fiorella Reginelli-Mirabito, were present to hold the ribbon as it was cut gracefully, falling to the grass.
The band Chasing Daylight, featuring Bobby Siegfried and Hillary Speck, serenaded attendees with ballads and love songs and crooned to everyone’s delight.
Bath Farmers Market board member and marketing director Sarah Fulton and Bath Borough Council member and market board leader Carol Bear-Heckman were visibly delighted at the vendor and attendee turnout and the ambience created by Siegfried and Speck’s musical talents.
Bear-Heckman was grateful Keystone Cement Company stepped up to major sponsorship status.
“Keystone is so important for our community, and now to sponsor our market is gratifying,” Bear-Heckman said.
Numerous vendors selling a variety of items from flowers to peanut butter, to range-raised chicken products, to other meats, healthy cooking oils, ice cream, vegan and gluten-free baked goods, fermented drinks and more along with the music make Bath Farmers Market a must-experience shopping stop during the 2021 season.
