Boy Scouts spruce up Morgenland Church property

Boy Scout Troop 89, which meets at the Ontelaunee Rod and Gun Club, and Cub Scout Pack 588, which meets at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, both in New Tripoli, met May 1 to help Morgenland Church members with some grounds maintenance.

Church members approached the Scouts during Wreaths Across America and asked for some help.

Wreaths across America is a national event where Scouts lay wreaths on graves of service members.

The Scouts were happy to help.

With the help of Wayne Schaffer from Morgenland Church for direction, the Scouts cleaned out flowers beds, cut landscape fabric and moved two dump trucks full of river rock into three flower beds.

The project should help ease maintenance in the coming years.
