Elizabeth Jill Lambert
Elizabeth Jill Lambert, 83, of Fogelsville, born in Melton-Mowbray, Leicestershire, England, died May 3, 2021 at home.
Known as Jill or Liza by many of her friends. she was an independent spirit and pioneer.
She traveled the world in her 20s, worked in Hong Kong and eventually ended up in New York where she met the loving Post family who introduced her to Allentown, the place she would call home for the next 50 years.
She had her Master’s degree in IT Systems Analytics from Muhlenberg College and worked as a systems analyst for more than 30 years at Mack Trucks.
She was a pioneer as a woman programmer at Mack Trucks where she worked both domestically and in France as part of the Renault acquisition.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Allentown.
A devoted grandmother, she lived part time after retiring in South Florida to help raise her grandson, Marlin, and granddaughter, Coral.
They were very close and always loved her surprise box, crazy hats, excellent cooking and thoughtful gifts.
Most importantly she spent quality time with them allowing each one to get to know her so well.
She always loved England and instilled this love to her daughter and grandchildren who were fortunate enough to visit her homeland with her.
Mom and Nana, we will miss you greatly!
Her survivors include daughter, Juliet Johansson; grandchildren, Coral and Marlin, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brother William Joseph Lambert; and sister Barbara Sonia Lambert.
Services will be announced at a later date.
