Betty Joyce Yorgey, 88, of Williamston, Mich., formerly of Schnecksville, died May 9, 2021.
She married Roger Yorgey in November 1953 and they enjoyed 54 years together until his death in 2007.
Born June 28, 1932, in Slatington, she was the daughter of the late Arthur L. and Helen M. Miller.
After graduating from Slatington High School, she worked in both bookkeeping and retail sales, however, her most treasured job was that of a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Her home was a gathering place for family and friends.
She enjoyed sharing meals, and playing cards and board games.
Called “second Mom” or “Nana” to many, she will be remembered as a kind, sweet, loving and caring person who greeted everyone with a smile.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Her survivors include children Robyne (Timothy) Marsteller, Sgt. Maj. Roger Yorgey II, Lori (Philip) Sierzega and Lynda Cowes; grandchildren Marcus and Norman Sattler, Roger Yorgey III, Amy and Samuel Sierzega, Stephanie Shapiro; her twin sister, Burdelle Kern; brother Arthur Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters Dorothy Miller, Barbara Hughes, Beverly Miller and Bonnie Jacobs; and granddaughter Melissa Yorgey.
Michigan arrangements were made by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes.
A celebration of her life will be arranged by Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Schnecksville, at a later date
