LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am enrolled in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom is Lisa Ferraro, my dad is Anthony Ferraro and my younger brother is AJ Ferraro.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is social studies. I’ve always found it interesting to learn about the past and how different things are now compared to how they were in the past. I also love the government/politics side of social studies. I find politics to be very interesting and I always try to keep myself informed on current events.

Q. Have you received any special awards?

A. I’ve managed to make Principal’s Honor Roll every year during high school so far. Also, I’ve received the Academic Achievement Award every year so far.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I’ve been a part of Key Club and Hornet Ambassadors all four years of high school. I was also inducted into National Honor Society last year. COVID-19 has had a big impact on all of my activities during the end of junior year and mostly all of senior year. I haven’t been able to do many in-person events and meetings have all been held online. It’s really unfortunate because there are certain events I always look forward to doing each year I wasn’t able to do this year, like helping out at the Special Olympics and getting to visit and bring books to kids at a local elementary school.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. This school year has definitely been a big challenge. Trying to adapt to online learning took a long time and it was rough not being able to go to school and see my friends, especially during senior year. It was also tough seeing what everyone all over the world had to go through with this pandemic.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal after high school is to go to college for a degree in secondary education. I’ve always wanted to be a teacher and I’m excited to see where that path will take me. I’m also excited to hopefully be able to travel soon. I’ve always loved visiting and exploring new places so traveling more is definitely a big goal of mine.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mom the most. She has taught me so much of what I know today and I wouldn’t be anywhere without her. Having her support and love every step of the way has meant so much to me. I can only hope that I’ll grow up to have those same qualities.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for always doing my best for myself and others. I’ll always want to be a kind, genuine person that is always eager to help anyone that I can.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice would be to just enjoy these last few months of high school. Try not to stress too much over things, we’re almost at the end. Finish out the year strong.
