East Allen Township committee to promote preservation efforts

At the April 22 East Allen Township Open Space and Farmland Preservation Committee meeting, committee leader Irene Kolessar announced the Save our Farms yard signs are in and available for residents.

The signs will go to the township office for free distribution to residents.

Kolessar noted the Save our Farms T-shirts are about to be ordered. Banners are also being planned, with the prep work almost done.

A portable Save our Farms table top display is being developed, as well as a brochure of the open space and farmland preservation effort.

There is a request to have committee content added to the township website.

In a budget report, Kolessar said about $820 has been spent so far from $2,500 allocated from the township.

Ongoing plans include efforts to stimulate interest in joining the committee and raising awareness about the importance and reasons for East Allen Township to preserve open space and farmland.

Residents interested in joining the committee or learning more about the committee’s efforts can contact the township office at 610-262-7961.
