CMS News: Book fair underway through May 30

The Catasauqua Middle School book fair is happening now until May 30.

The online book fair helps students discover new books, favorite characters and more. Every purchase earns school rewards for much-needed resources.

Shipping is free on book-only purchases more than $25.

Thank you for instilling a love of reading and supporting the book fair.

Reminder: The Algebra I Keystone exams for both traditional-learning and virtual students are 9:35 a.m.-12:31 p.m. May 20 and 21.

Calling all eighth-grade parents and guardians! Don’t forget to send in photos for the eighth-grade promotion slideshow by May 21.

One photo should represent your student’s eighth-grade year, and the other should be from their middle-level years or another from eighth grade.

The slideshow will be available on the website June 1-4 at cattysd.org/Domain/276.

Lehigh Valley Health Network is offering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to youths ages 12-15. The LVHN COVID-19 vaccines are available at no cost.

Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Catasauqua Middle School is closed May 31 for the Memorial Day holiday.

The end of the school year is quickly approaching! Students will have half days June 1-4, with 11 a.m. dismissals.

The last day of school for students in grades 5-7 is June 4. The last day for eighth-grade students is June 2.

Eighth-grade students will participate in a drive-thru promotion recognition 8:30-10 a.m. June 3. This is for both traditional-learning and virtual students.

Academic achievements and other awards will be presented to students, along with their promotion certificate.

Cars will line up along the current drop-off and pickup route. Each car will stop at the front door, and the certificates and awards will be handed off. All family members should remain in the car.

The eighth-grade teachers will all be present to wish each student well on their high school journey.
