Paul Shup Jr. 71, of Bethlehem, died May 4, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Paul and Jeanette (Billiard) Shup. He was the husband of Verletta (Neith) Shup for 50 years.
He was a 1967 graduate of Southern Lehigh High School.
He was in the United States Army.
He worked for Sigley Sanitation, Strohl Sanitation, A.J. Oster, Piercing Pagoda and most recently for Kirkland Village.
A bowler, he was a secretary and a treasurer for both the Bethlehem Area and Bethlehem Area USBC Bowling Associations. He became a lifetime board member after stepping down. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame for meritorious service in 2003.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Marian Shup of Nazareth and Antoinette Rankin and her husband Anthony of Portage, Maine; a sister, Elaine Vermeulen and her husband Louis of Northampton; a brother, Roger Lee Shup and his wife Karen of Bethlehem; nieces; and nephews.
He was predeceased by Marian’s companion, Anthony “Tony” Smith.
