Salome R. Schleicher, 88, of Allentown, died peacefully May 8, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of the late Freddie M. Schleicher.

Born Oct. 30, 1932, in Ironton, she was the daughter of the late Raymond W. and Alma G. (Henry) Burkhardt.

She was a seamstress at several textile mills in the area.

A member of Bethany Bible Fellowship Church, Whitehall, she was loved and will be remembered for her many attributes, especially her baked goods.

Her survivors include a brother James L. Burkhardt and his wife, Jeanne, of Allentown; sister MaryLou Cressman and her husband, Curtis, of Florida; sister-in-law Patricia Burkhardt; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother Marlyn R. “Chup” Burkhardt.

A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery, Slatington. There will be no public calling hours.
