PARKLAND: ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’

An Old Testament tale comes to life in Parkland High School’s “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” online, 7:30 p.m. May 21, 22 and 3 p.m. May 23 for the production filmed in the auditorium, Parkland High School, 2700 N. Cedar Crest Boulevard, South Whitehall Township.

The musical’s director and music director Francis Anonia is assisted by choreographer Kelly Jean Graham, technical directors Damon Gelb and Zak Knoll, and production assistant Matt Faragasso. The rehearsal accompanist is Sherry Deal.

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, the family-friendly show is based on the “coat of many colors” story of Joseph from the Bible’s Book of Genesis.

The musical premiered on Broadway in 1982, receiving six Tony Award nominations.

“Any Dream Will Do,” “Close Every Door,” “Go, Go, Go Joseph,” “Potiphar,” “Song of the King” and “Joseph Megamix” are among the songs.
