Gallery View: Graphics of sports in Nazareth
Works by Allentown-based screen-print graphic designer Randy Stolinas, aka “Stolitron,” are on view through May 16. Nazareth Center for the Arts, Nazareth.
Bold, colorful screen-prints of iconic sports champions like Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, historic sports venues including Philadelphia’s now-demolished Connie Mack Stadium, and “Landmark Series” of cities and towns are assembled for the exhibition.
For more than 25 years, Stolinas has been a screen-print graphic designer. Much of his career has been focused on designing and illustrating graphics for sports licensing. The Graphic Design Manager for Special Events-Nike, Inc., was laid off in 2020 when the department relocated to Tampa, Fla.
Stolinas began a new position recently at Dyehard Fan Supply, which specializes in college sports licensing. Although the business is based in Winston-Salem, N.C. the graphic artist can work from his home studio.
On his own, Stolinas has been creating illustrated, limited edition sports screen-prints for the NBA, NHL, NFL and MLB for Phenom Gallery.
Stolinas also has been producing prints of famous musicians such as the late Eddie Van Halen.
Nazareth Downtown Manager Lisa Surma Borick recently commissioned Stolinas to design a poster promoting Nazareth to serve as a community fundraiser. Borick facilitated Stolinas’ arts center exhibit.
According to Nazareth Center for the Arts board member Glenn Kratzer, the center is celebrating 10 years as a venue available to “artists and performers in the greater Lehigh Valley and Nazareth area.”
