NHS track was eager for EPC meet
Northampton head track and field coach Tim Caffrey liked his team’s chances at the East Penn Conference championship at East Stroudsburg South High School Monday afternoon, after Press deadlines.
The Konkrete Kids sent 23 girls and 24 boys to compete in the event from their 86-member squad. Northampton finished their dual meet season with a 3-3 record.
“That is a great achievement,” noted Caffrey about the number of athletes sent to the meet. “It is a recognition of all the hard work put in among the members of the team to gain participation in postseason play.”
“It is our goal to better their time/distance/height in the league meet to improve their PRs (personal records).”

Caffrey understands the potential pitfalls ahead. The upcoming district meet is at Blue Mountain High School May 18.
“It makes it more challenging to earn a spot in the District meet,” said Caffrey. “We hope to qualify many of the kids for that meet also.”
