Results of enforcement period announced

Pennsylvania State Police troopers from Troop M, which covers Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks counties, conducted a two-day traffic enforcement period April 27 through 28.

The enforcement targeted aggressive drivers during rush hour throughout the Troop M coverage area.

Results of the enforcement period include:

•563 traffic citations issued

•410 warnings Issued

•Eight arrests for driving under the influence

•11 drug arrests

•Among other significant arrests were the discovery of 915 cartons of untaxed cigarettes and a person not to possess a firearm

Troopers will continue to focus on aggressive drivers throughout the summer months as traffic increases.
