Gerald M. Nero, 78, of Cementon, died May 3, 2021, at home.
Born in Cementon, he was a son of Alice (Haberern) and the late John “Jeddo” Nero.
He worked at Atlas Cement Company for many years. Before his retirement, he worked at the former J.T. Baker Chemical in Phillipsburg, N.J.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
He was a life member of Northampton Raccoon Club, North American Hunting Club and the Kunkletown Rod & Gun Club. He was a member of Grouse Hall Fish and Game and the NRA. He was a past president of Eldred Beagle Club.
He was a life member and past president of Laurel Fire Company. For 58 years, he was a Whitehall Township volunteer firefighter.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three children, Dr. Natalie Daniels, Noreen Molchany and Gerald M. Jr. and his wife Susan; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Heffner and her husband Greg, Carol Szoke and Janice Fetchko and her husband Mike; nieces; and nephews.
Contributions may be presented to Laurel Fire Company, 5114 Third St., Whitehall.
