EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School, doing full-time dual-enrollment through Lehigh Carbon Community College.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My parents are Heidi and Henry, I have two brothers Harrison and Hayden, along with our cats: Honeybun, Tango, Vanessa, Twitchy and Poe.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is math because I like working with numbers and doing data analytics.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been awarded the Dean’s Honors List during the past terms at LCCC. I participated in the Distinguished Young Women program. I represented Lehigh County and was awarded first-runner up and winner of the interview award at the DYW of Pennsylvania State competition.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has COVID-19 impacted these activities?

A. I have been an active member at my dance studio for the past 15 years. Pre-COVID-19 I was involved in the marine fitness and PALS at EHS; however, with COVID-19 and my differing school schedule I was unable to participate this year in these wonderful extracurriculars.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. I think my biggest challenge to date is making my college decision for the next four years.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. My next goal is to be at a four-year institute of higher education, studying accounting and being able to participate in study abroad programs.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. Recently I watched a documentary about Jane Goodall, I admire her long-standing commitment to the environment and educating the next generation to become stewards for the environment. Her stamina and unwavering commitment well into her 80s is also very admirable.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for my positive impact on those around me and the friendships I am able to build.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. One thing I would say to my peers would be everyone has the power to make change whether it be within themselves or the community as a whole.
