Editor’s note: Coplay Borough Mayor Dean Molitoris has announced he will not seek re-election. He has asked that we share his gratitude with our Coplay readers. His letter follows.
“It has been a true honor to serve as the mayor of Coplay for over five years. However, I recently made the difficult decision to not run for re-election.
“During my tenure, I have been fortunate to meet and work side-by-side with some great people from many different levels of federal, state and local government, and I want to thank each person who helped me and this borough to continue to be a fantastic place to live and work.
“Coplay’s number one strength is its people. The borough is blessed with numerous civic organizations, churches and businesses that continually step up to help wherever it is needed. I have always been a strong proponent of volunteerism and believe that if everyone just gave a little of themselves for the greater good of others, we could truly change the world.
“I am currently unsure of exactly where I will choose to focus my attention next, but I am certain that I am not done helping this community. I wish the next mayor a lot of success and will forever be thankful I had the opportunity to be the mayor of the great borough of Coplay.”
