NORTHAMPTON COUNTY

COUNTY PRISON: The Director of Corrections reports since the beginning of the pandemic, 183 inmates have tested positive for COVID-19. Seven are currently in quarantine, 176 have finished their quarantine periods or are no longer at NCP. Since March 2020, NCP has conducted 2,898 tests for COVID-19 on inmates. All new inmates coming into the facility receive a test before they are transferred to General Population; residents are tested on a random basis.

Sixty-three NCP corrections officers have tested positive for the virus since the start of the pandemic. Sixty-two have finished their quarantine periods and returned to work; one is out on quarantine.

There are currently 545 inmates in residence at NCP. Twenty-eight non-violent offenders have been granted extended furloughs.

LEHIGH VALLEY

WALK-IN VACCINATIONS: Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is now accepting walk-ins at the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic–Northampton Crossings, located at 3768 Easton Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township in Northampton County. The clinic is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m.- 6 p.m. Those 18 and older can walk in without an appointment to receive the first dose of the Moderna vaccine. They will be scheduled on-site for their second dose of the vaccination.

While walk-ins are welcome, people who wish to make an appointment for the COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic–Northampton Crossings may still do so at all LVHN vaccination sites.
